Rutz was born from a passion for shoes and a desire to go further and innovate, by uniting two of Portugal´s major industries: Footwear and Cork.
The brand name recalls our “roots”, our Portuguese origins and traditions which will inspire our collections.
On the other hand, the name shows us our “routes”, the paths we will follow towards to a better future: the eco-friendly choice of material and the concern with lightness and comfort.

Cork is a natural material - is the bark of the cork oak, which makes it a fabric completely organic and tough. The process of the cork oak not rip harm the tree, as the cork oak is the only tree whose bark is autorregenera.
Initially it was extracted cork stoppers for the production - there is no material in the world that best fit for the preservation of wine - and the isolation and houses lining.
It is currently an ever more material used for various purposes, in particular for the creation of sector fashion.
The corks we use in rutz | walk in cork are all national and, Portugal's largest exporter of cork in the world, are all high quality.
We opted for this material for the production of our shoes, not only for its natural beauty but also for being a highly resistant material, Waterproof and breathable to the foot.
