PRODUCT
Our goal is to produce environmentally friendly and fair trade shoes along with accessories that last through the years and age with time. Due to its combination of flexibility and durability over time, we mostly use the highest quality cork fabric taking into account the most valued part of the cork properties.
We only use cork fabric as our main material with demanding criteria of applicability in footwear, to guarantee sturdiness, flexibility and comfort.
All other materials such as soles, linings, etcโฆare evolving towards using raw materials that are increasingly environmentally friendly and that promote fair trade. Some examples are the natural rubber soles used, or natural rubber soles with cork particles or cereals particles, or soles made from reused tires, or post-consumer recycled PET fabrics.
We source locally and responsibly in Portugal and follow a strict ethical code. We visit our factories often (at least once a month) to overhaul working conditions and we also make sure our shoe artisans are paid fairly for their exquisite work. The raw materials we use follow the same premises as stated above.
The right way to clean our cork shoes and accessories is with (natural) soap and water. Simply added some natural soap (or non-aggressive soap) to a damp sponge to clean the dirt in the outside, accumulated over the years, depending on the frequency of use. Finally, use a dry towel to remove the cleaning excess and let it dry at room temperature. Advice: do not expose the item directly to the sun to dry.
SHIPPING / PAYMENT
We currently accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay (processed through stripe.com), PayPal and Multibanco/ATM references (this last only for Portugal).
All our payments are processed in EUR (euros), which is the default currency on our payment gateway. The prices shown in other currencies (USD/GBP) are converted based on the exchange rate defined by your bank or credit card company. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY ORDER?
It depends of the logistics model (Standard Shipping or Express Shipping), but normally for Portugal and Spain takes between 2 to 5 business days; for European Union takes between 2 to 8 business days and outside European Union takes between 4 to 10 business days.
Nevertheless, as soon as we ship your order, you will receive an email with a tracking number.
We ship from Portugal, from within the European Union. No import duties will be charged in the EU. For United States, for orders exceeding $800,00 USD, import duties may be due, paid to the carrier.
Returns and exchanges are valid for 14 days after receiving your order, according to Portuguese law. You just have to send us an email to info@rutz.pt asking for it, mention the reason why you are returning to helps us also to improve our product/service and also it would make the process quicker.
The return or the exchange requires that the item have to be returned in its original condition, with no signs of recurring use.

Although we display prices to date in several currencies, our checkout is always processed in EUR. If your credit card has a foreign currency (GBP/USD), the amount will be converted by your credit card issuing company to the latest exchange rate. The same applies to the refunded amount. You will always be charged/refunded the same EUR amount, but the exchange rate may vary.

After receiving your order you have 14 days to exchange or return the products. The items must be unworn and new, as you got them. In case you received a product that you believe is faulty, please contact us at info@rutz.pt right away. Please read our full policy here.

Once your return is received and inspected, and your refund is approved, a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 48 hours. In general all the process shouldnโt take longer than 8 business days.
